A beautiful feline breed, Russian Blue is said to have originated in the Archangel islands in Russia long ago. There was much appreciated by its shiny, unique personality before it was brought by sailors to Britain in the second half of the nineteenth century. Formal recognition was received by the Russian Blue in the coming years and soon found throughout Europe, including Scandinavia where the cat had a slightly different appearance. In the United States through formal breeding was undertaken nearly a century later, when breeders began to cross the Scandinavian and British variants to produce the modern Russian blue. As it has moved through time and places, Russian Blue has had several names including CAT Archangel, Blue and Foreign Affairs of Malta.
A graceful animal, russian blue looks real. Her body long and elegant, making her look slim. His brilliant double-layer coating makes it stand out from other shorthair cats. The beautiful silver layer, which is very dense, only observed in blue and has the spiky hair that give it its sublime sheen. Head of the Russian Blue is often compared in shape to that of the mesmerizing cobra, with large ears and round and far apart bright emerald eyes adding to the charm of the cat. Prominent whiskers give the face a gentle smiling expression.
Because of its beauty and elegance, Russian Blues sometimes been used in the creation of artificial breeds. His features are highly valued for inclusion in the gene pool of potential races. Also known shed less than most cats and are very suitable for life with people who are allergic to cat fur. Many see them as a hypoallergenic animal species although there is some debate on this issue.
Russian Blues are very calm and gentle cats who get along well with all family members. There are too demanding or vocal and in fact, produce a sweet soft voice when they want to communicate with others.
