With the death of Ted Kennedy, thousands of Americans is not sad only by his death, but it feels a little sad at the idea that they will never have the opportunity to know the truth behind the fatal accidents of Mary Jo Kopechne.
It was a car accident in 1969, leading to the death of Mary Jo Kopechne and threaten the end of the political career of Ted Kennedy. Newspaper accounts stated that Ted and Mary Jo left a party together one night and the car was launched off Dike Bridge into a pond directly. Mary Jo Kopechne died in the car. What created the suspicion among States American people that Kennedy was to report the accident the next morning and apologized for the incident on national television. Police reports, which after an accident at Kennedy swam to return back to his hotel where he fell asleep.

In the July 18, 1969 Ted and Mary Jo left a party in the House of Lawrence around 11:15 pm. Kennedy said he was not familiar with the road going back to the hotel and he was again Kopechne Dyke Road and then a narrow bridge. Then the car dove off from the bridge which caused the car to the back and sank - the roof of the car was resting on the bottom. Instead of going to the police to report the accident, Ted Kennedy returned to the party and took two friends to look at Mary Jo but could not find. Then, Kennedy returned to his hotel, then fell asleep. The incident was reported police in the morning after two fishermen spotted the car.
