From time to time, most artists have experienced a creative block. Is there a key to overcoming this block to restore our creativity? Let's see how creative experience of what artists, what it feels like when a block occurs, and how to overcome the block of artists.
When the strikes, never see coming. The feeling is something like this: You're walking through a serene forest, the cool breeze caressing your hair and whispers in the treetops above you. The light Filtered sun is hovering like a strobe-made nature, Lulling to sleep.
You see the sea in the distance and can almost feel the salt on her cheeks you make your way along the path of the needle in cargo to shore. Spying a beautiful group of plants magenta, stop. When you bend down to pet one of the many flowers, close your eyes to allow the scent to penetrate your mind without being bothered by the sight and sound. The feeling is almost heavenly.
As you stand and open your eyes, we find that a thick fog suddenly and cruelly replaced the forest, surrounded by darkness. You return to the route but the road is gone. Turn towards what you think it was the sea and is only fog. Behind you, the fog. Together with you, only fog. You reach your hand in a vain attempt to feel something, anything familiar.
As the anxiety increases, you feel the familiar sting of pine needles in his face and hands. Now, however, seem foreign and angry, and not the light filter the bright sun that had once been. You can see anything, so one is often hampered by fog, so frustrated until it stops and the collapse in the forest path, her cheek against the forest floor, the scent of flowers magenta replaced by the smell of dirt.
Unfortunately, artists block can occur without warning. One moment we are in the groove. The next thing you know we are on the forest floor. It is the word of the jungle, blinded by the fog that we make our choice to either continue lying in defeat, or get up and find the exit.
Ok, the first step is to take a break. Make it a short break, not very long. Get up, stretch, take a walk. Drinking a cup coffee or tea. Get a beer if you are so inclined. Go outside if you are inside. Go swimming or take a nap. Take a walk or a bike ride.
The idea is away from the fabric and away from the block. This equates to sit on the forest floor, or standing in the road, stretching and waiting for the fog clears. If the fog takes a while to clear, at least we do not wallow in doubt and pity. You are dealing with the fog and not allowing you to make the best of you.
What to do after rest? Get up and move. I found that when my mind seems blocked creativity and talent that I know, there really is a next step. However, the question ie what is the next step?
The answer is, move. Now that you've had your rest in the forest floor moves.
Naturally, the next question is, which direction do you go when you're in a fog? There are options.
Back. Go back down the familiar path that was so beautiful moments before. Back to the fundamentals of the primary colors, pencil drawing and stick figures. Soon you'll rediscover himself and his roots. Make it simple as was. Relax and retreat.
Move aside. Venture into the cloud forest to discover new and exciting things that had never been left in the way. Try something you've never tried before. If you are in oils, watercolors break. If you do cakes, try sculpture. If you airbrush your thing, do something finger painting. Move aside.
Forward. Continue through the mist to the beautiful seascape that you know is there. Forget what happened. Do not think about what went wrong. Do not speculate about what caused the crash. Know that you are creative. Knowing that you have talent. Place the block behind you and try something that was more difficult than the project before. Often, for me this has led me to places I knew I could not reach. Forward.
When you meet with artists block, the point is moving. Do not let you off the block.
Move. Move. Move. Remember that the only real reason you have artists block in the first place: You talent. You're creative.
You're an artist!
