I want to know how to do a spot of cinnamon to the "dirty" my Halloween and Christmas crafts?

I've seen this done at other offices (puppets Snow, Santas ,...) and like primitive and rustic look, how can I do this? some tips to help keep my crafts smells great also grateful. thanks!
