Promoting healthy growth

The deep watering method has proven to save water and encourage plants to develop strong root systems active.

It is basically very simple - watering less frequently, eg once every 1 to 2 weeks, but every time you irrigate deeper.

For example, you have flowers and vegetables that have been in the soil for at least a month. When the plants have started to pull back "top" of growth (new leaves or buds), you know that have adapted to their environment.

Tip: Seedlings and plants fresh (less than a month old), always need more water until their root systems have begun to expand and become established. Expect to start a deep watering program until their crops are beginning to show new growth. Even then you will want to slowly introduce this system.

Tip: The plants in hot areas, bathed in sunshine in your garden, usually need to be watered more often, but you can not play this by choosing plants that are "drought tolerant". Cooler, shady areas need much less water.

Take a few minutes to till or loosen the top inch of soil in the bed of the plant. Be careful around new plantings, as some of the roots will be closer to the surface and broken.

Deep watering will encourage deeper roots, in search of food and water, which is exactly what we want to do. Loosen the top of an inch soil will allow water to penetrate and not run away.

No need to be too demanding on the farm at this time, all "hard" work was done when preparing the seed bed and take you through the growing season.

Tip: A tip for good quality water is one that breaks the water flow in many streams soft.

Tip: Add a good mulch on top of the garden bed, 1 to 2 inches thick, is a good idea when you start a deep watering program. A mulch helps retain moisture and protect roots from temperature extremes. Furthermore, as an added benefit, help keep weeds to a minimum.

Home irrigation at a point in your yard that you can work your way back a. Gradually work your way around your garden, making sure to thoroughly water each plant individually, and any open area or planting around them.

In typical a 10 'x 3' bed, you can spend 5 minutes of irrigation, then gradually work your way around the rest of your garden.

Now you are done for a week, depending of the weather. As the condition of your plants a thorough watering system that gradually extend the time between waterings.

Its aim is to drive deep water on the floor, and completely saturated the soil to about 12 to 14 inches deep. This will create a reservoir of moisture below the roots.

At the top of the bed dry roots naturally seek the water that is stored below them. This encourages a deeper root system that is healthier, and is better able to tolerate low water conditions.

When you first start a program of deep watering, you'll want to keep an eye on the most young people, and plants in warm areas of the garden.

Please note that the plants begin to wilt, water them thoroughly. Over time you will find that water twice or even once a month will be all one needs of existing plants, depending on certain species or plant variety.

Tip: Low annual growth and thoughts that have shallow root systems and although naturally a deep watering program will encourage deeper roots, a plant with a shallow root system, of course, will require more regular watering.

You can set off this trend by planting of annuals in cooler areas of your garden or use of taller plants to shade the surrounding areas. In essence, you are creating a small microclimate to protect sensitive plantations. In addition, annual usually need about 1 inch of water per week.

As with most activities gardening, you may need to adjust this process to their particular conditions of growth.

Deep Irrigation has proven over time to save water, reduce maintenance, and even promote lush and vigorous growth in your garden or landscape.
